Donate to a Charity

Who to Choose?

Choose based on what speaks to you or what you think your community most needs at the time of donation.

How do I find a reputable charity?

We recommend either staying local or diligently researching the organization.

You may want to start here https://www.charitywatch.org/ or https://www.charitynavigator.org/

What if the budget is tight, but I want to help?

If coming up a little short at the end of the week is a concern. We have found a few ways to still donate to a worthy cause.

If you purchase items through Amazon, you can go to smile.amazon.com instead and use your same login to add a local charity to your account. You always need to log in that way to donate. Amazon will give 0.5% of eligible purchases to your chosen charity. This is also a good way to find local charities in your community.

Many credit cards offer rewards points that can be donated to charities in lieu of other options like gift cards or cash back. Do the math sometimes you get a better deal on one type or another. Either way that perk could be shared if you choose to.
